Avandia: Is It Safe?

A federal advisory panel is looking into claims that Avandia, a popular diabetes drug, may do more harm than good. Individuals who control their diabetes with Avandia may be at a greater risk of suffering a heart attack.
Avandia, GlaxoSmithKline's top selling diabetes drug, has been a topic of controversy since 2007 when analysis of several prior studies revealed that Avandia could increase the risk of heart attack and other coronary problems.
