Social Security Disability

The Social Security Administration controls the social insurance program for our entire nation. This program includes disability, survivor’s benefits, and retirement. The program is set up to provide assistance to those who are not able to perform substantial gainful activity as a result of a physical or mental impairment that is expected to last at least 12 months, or can result in death.

Most (60-70%) initial claims for Social Security Disability are declined, at which point an appeal can be filed. It is helpful to have an attorney at this stage of the process. An attorney can ensure that the best records to establish impairment are reviewed, and considered.

If you have been denied disability benefits by the Social Security Administration and would like to appeal the decision, contact our office to ensure that your claim is properly reviewed and considered.
